Planning poker is a popular technique used to estimate the amount of work in Agile. Developed to enable working groups to have discussions and make clearer estimate, planning poker removes bias from the estimation process and, therefore, improves the accuracy of the projections. Aside from solving the estimation problem, but planning poker and agile create a collaborative working environment. The group members are involved in the decision-making process, which increases consensus and sense of responsibility in work performance. In the Vietnamese Agile context, planning poker is becoming more widely used. Organizations in Vietnam increasingly recognize the value of applying planning poker as it does not only optimize the estimation process but also enhances teamwork and communication. Project effectiveness and completion time can be ultimately optimized when planning poker and agile are applied. Thus, the way how planning poker and agile are used in the workflow should be distinctly understood by teams to succeed.
